About Dr. Savard
Christopher Savard, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who has been serving southeastern North Carolina since 1990. He began his career as a staff psychologist at the Brunswick Hospital Adolescent Psychiatric Unit and later at New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s psychiatric facility, The Oaks, where he provided care for children and adolescents. He has been in private practice with Cape Fear Psychological Services since 1993.
With decades of experience, Dr. Savard has worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. His clinical focus includes anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, depression, substance use concerns, and behavioral challenges. He also provides psychological evaluations, including ADHD and behavioral assessments.

Dr. Savard’s therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based cognitive and behavioral strategies. He integrates trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure-based interventions, and structured skill development to help clients address anxiety, OCD, trauma, substance use, mood disorders, and a range of behavioral concerns. Outside the office
Dr. Savard leads an active lifestyle. He enjoys training for the Wrightsville Beach Sprint Triathlon, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren. His personal commitment to fitness and family parallels his professional belief in balance, resilience, and overall well-being.
